We are excited to congratulate IDIES own Assistant Research Scientist Dr. Jeffrey (Heshy) Roskes, on earning the Springer Award for an outstanding Ph.D. thesis. Together with his colleagues in the CMS group at JHU, Heshy developed a precise analysis of the Higgs boson properties. Roskes earned his Ph.D. from JHU in October 2019.

The Springer Award comprises a monetary prize to the student, as well as publication of the work in the Springer collection of outstanding dissertations, Springer Theses. Springer is a global publishing company that publishes books and peer-reviewed journals in Science, Humanities, Technology, and Medicine. 

Prior to graduating with his Ph.D., Heshy was the William Gardner Fellow and the Donald E. Kerr Sr. and Barbara Kerr Stanley Predoctoral Fellow in the Physics and Astronomy Department.
