July, 2014. The Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics (AMS) of the Whiting School of Engineering is pleased to announce the addition of a distinguished new faculty member. IDIES affiliate, Prof. Tamas Budavari joins the faculty in AMS this summer. Tamas’ scientific interests span a wide range of topics from survey astronomy to computational statistics and his new appointment will open up additional possibilities for exciting projects and collaborations.

He will continue to work on key astronomy projects, such as the Hubble Source Catalog, but will be seen more frequently in Whitehead Hall.
