Tom Haine, an IDIES Affiliate and Physical Oceanography Professor at the Morton K. Blaustein Department of Earth and Planetary Science, and postdoc Inga Koszalka have published a paper in the Journal of Physical Oceanography on the Fates and Travel Times of Denmark Strait Overflow Water in the Irminger Basin (Koszalka et al., 2013). The paper uses very-high resolution ocean circulation model solutions produced by the Homewood High-Performance Cluster and simulates the trajectories of more than 10,000 Lagrangian particles using the DataScope analysis cluster.
